Is one kind of plant that belongs to the tribal Zingiberaceae. Zingiber name is derived from the Sanskrit "singabera" (Rosengarten 1973) and Greece "zingiberi" (Purseglove et al. 1981), which means horn, because the shape of the ginger rhizome-like antlers. Officinale is Latin (officina) which is meant to be used in the pharmaceutical or medical treatment (Janson 1981). The name Ginger is derived from the French language (Gingembre), English long (Gingifere), Latin (Ginginer), and Greece (Zingiberis).
